I have created this blog in order to help answer questions pertaining to software distributed by Creative Memories. I use Memory Manager and Storybook Creator Plus and would like to help anyone using these programs with any difficulties experienced in learning to use them. Have fun.
This is a great idea, I also use CM for most of my digital layouts and find it much more user friendly than PS.
ReplyDeleteThanks so much for doing this! I will be a frequent visitor to this blog!
ReplyDeleteWhile I'm here, I have a question. I hope this is the right place.
I have my 12x12 pages printed at Costco. The max. upload file size is 8 MB (I think). Often my files are too large and I have to adjust the quality setting to make the file size smaller. Is it better to adjust the quality or resolutio or is there a better way to do this without having to purchase a file-shrink program?
Thanks,
Samantha
(ps...I have to post this as anonymous since I can't seem to remember my p/w on my google account.)
Samantha try saving as 'good' and see how it goes. I'd try maybe one or two prints though to see how the print quality is before doing a whole bunch of them.
ReplyDeleteI have hundreds of digi kits from websites and cd's I've bought. How do I download them into Storybook Manager?
ReplyDeleteHi, I have also been wondering how to download other digi kits into Storybook Creator and just happened to stumble across your blog....any information the subject would be very useful and greatly appreciated...Thanks
ReplyDeleteI have been working on StoryBook Creator for the past 6 months and was on page 98 when my computer crashed!!! Yikes! It has been so sad as I did not have the pages backed up but still have the jpegs available. Any idea on how to recover the .page files that may/may not be on the hard drive. We were able to recover some stuff with a data recovery software that we used but can't seem to find any software recovery that supports searching for the .page extensions...Any ideas? Thanks.
ReplyDeleteI have noticed that Creative Memories Storybook Plus program v3 takes approx 1 Gigabyte for each project it creates. This seems very unusual for a windows home application computer program and appears Creative Memories has been a little lazy coding their Storybook program to efficiently to compress their data within a project. Does anyone know if Creative Memories is working to reduce disk space? **Beware if you use a 2year old laptop with only 100Gig** I recommend keeping an eye on your disk space as your hard drive will fill up very fast and may crash your computer.
ReplyDeleteI have a 2 yo computer and recently upgraded to SBC 3 and MM3. My computer has since stopped printing to my photoprinter, and when I tried to fix it, it completely crashed. I use Vista and wonder if it is SBC 3 and MM3 that are causing my problems. Should I move these to a newer computer? Has anyone else had this problem? Thanks, Karen
ReplyDeleteIf you have a problem with disk space, try saving them to an external hard drive. I use a Passport. This way I have plenty of space on my laptop. My passport is something crazy like 500Gigs
ReplyDeleteJust beware with the Passport externals though....We have 2 of them now that have just stopped working. No way to access all of the saved files. I had one full of scrapbooked pages and books and my husband had one for work. Both "passports" and both from costco. If you google it.....there have been several complaints of this. You should really be backing it up on a 2nd more reliable hard drive...and then if you the passport crashes, you don't loose it all.
ReplyDeleteHi I have the original storybook creator plus and have never used it, is there a way to upgrade it without having to repurchase the entire program?
